Running into the Atlantic Ocean on New Year’s Day is tradition! It’s freezing and fun! Start off your new year being BOLD. Information on the two big plunges is below.

1.) Folly Beach – The 2026 Bill Murray Polar Plunge

(1 Center Street, Folly Beach, SC 29439 – On the Beach in from of Tides Hotel)

Dress up as your favorite Bill Murray character and “freeze your bills off”! The plunge into the ocean takes place at noon. However, the fun starts with the costume contest at 11:00am. If you’d like to sign up for the costume contest click here. ($5.00) Otherwise, just park and come down to the beach by noon to run into the ocean with your like-minded crazy new year’s people. There is a ton of excitement and hype to start off 2026!

2.) Sullivan’s Island – The 2026 Dunleavy’s Pub Polar Plunge

(Dunleavy’s Pub – 2213 Middle Street #B, Sullivan’s Island, SC 29482)

Take a plunge to raise money for Special Olympics South Carolina. Dunleavy’s Pub opens at 9:00 a.m. with food and drinks, followed by a walk to the beach at 1:30 p.m. Make sure to register through the Fundraising Link on the page linked here.
